Hope of Africa University Lubumbashi was founded in 2023 with a vision to become a leading institution of higher education in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Established in the heart of Lubumbashi, the second-largest city and an important economic hub in the region, the university aims to meet the growing demand for quality education in the Katanga province and beyond.

In its early years, Hope of Africa University Lubumbashi focused on providing academic programs that align with the country’s development priorities, particularly in fields such as mining engineering, business, technology, health sciences, and agriculture—industries critical to the economic growth of Lubumbashi and the nation. The university was founded with the mission of empowering Congolese students to contribute to national development and to equip them with skills needed for the global workforce.
